What is World Bikes?
World Bikes is a collection of motorcycle tools that I started working on in late 2006. The name of the site, World Bikes, is an attempt to encapsulate the volume of content the sites I have started have. From a beginner's desire to learn html to create a simple webpage I have broadened my knowledge to php, mysql and javascript. All techniques I use have been self taught - through books and many useful sources on the internet (being too many to list here).
The World Bikes project initially started with The Motorcycle Directory, a site which was born out of mainly annoyance as I could never find what I wanted. Being an avid motorcycle fan, I became more frustrated with a lack of information about different aspects of motorcycling - mainly where and how to find things. For that reason the site started as a basic directory service with a few members, and has now grown to over 17,000 members with information constantly being uploaded such as motorcycle articles, blogs and more.
Ultimately, my goal with World Bikes is to contribute the most informative and useful tools to the global motorcycling community.
